Forty nine years ago -- in 1962 -- Diebold Ellsworth Hughes started helping buyers and sellers of real property in northeast Baltimore.  He was a natural.  Five years later -- in 1967 -- Mr Hughes opened D E Hughes Realty Company.  The office started at his home on Ready Avenue in Govans but within a year he opened up shop in the 5900 block of York Road just beside the Senator Theatre.  Today, Mr Hughes is located at 1263 E Belvedere Avenue in Ramblewood, where he leads an office of brilliant agents who have forged their own niches and expertise that continue and extend his legacy of professional service. 

 

While Mr Hughes has fond memories of the old school --when  real estate contracts were one page  and listing cards were literally that, stacks of cards that were hand delivered from office to office -- he has bought in 100% to the modern technologies and trends that power our dynamic market.  Don't be surprised if you see Mr Hughes using his Sprint HTC EVO Shift 4G Android powered smart phone to forward a contract to a title company, check for the latest listings in Beverly Hills, upload pictures for a new virtual tour, or text his grandchildren.  But a hand written card or letter is still up his sleeve as a perfect tool for saying thank you to his successful clients or to express sincere appreciation to a cooperating agent.
